Is Miracle Gro moisture soil OK to pot basil and tomatoes in?

I just went to pot some more(!) basil, because I like lots of basil, and I realized the only potting soil we have is a Miracle Gro brand that is designed to retain moisture. I’m concerned because it says nothing about food, but the pictures on the bag are all of flowers and it says you need to wear gloves to handle it. That makes me think I shouldn’t eat anything that grows in it.
